Planning and Design

Planning and design are critical to a project’s success and often proves to be the most challenging part of the complete process as well. A balance of aesthetic appeal, functionality, and structural integrity must be achieved through careful examination and planning. Design is inspired by imagination and coaxed to life starting with conceptual sketches followed by 3D rendered drawings and then a working drawing in which components are fabricated accordingly..

Fabrication

Fabrication is usually achieved in the shop where parts are cut, fitted, and fastened together usually through welding or bolting. Special instances require field fabrication of components in the form of columns, beams, brackets, etc. Test fitting and adjustment of assemblies prior to the metal coating process is sometimes required for difficult connections. Coatings are applied as specified with the most popular being a powder coat option.

Installation

At the point of installation all components are usually at a “finished” state where all that remains is to secure the project in place so that its potential can be realized on a functional level. Securing the piece or pieces may require one or more of the following: welding, screwing, lagging, bolting, concrete coring and cementing, or epoxy injection. Installation is the last step and usually the fastest part of the process but the job is not complete until customer satisfaction is achieved.
